Co-Sponsored by:
The US Department of Energy
ASHRAE
IEA ECBCS Annex 46

This sixth annual energy technology workshop is designed for building energy managers, design engineers and architects, contractors, decision-makers, energy auditors and Energy Services Companies.  Previous workshops in Orlando (2005), Chicago (2006), Dallas (2007), New York (2008), and Chicago (2009) brought together U.S. and international facility energy experts.  The workshops provided a forum to share information on different national and international energy saving technologies, and measures for new buildings and building retrofits.

The 2010 6th Technology Workshop was conducted in conjunction with the 2010 ASHRAE Winter Conference, with the theme of the workshop being energy use reduction in individual buildings and multi-building sites today for meeting the energy goals of tomorrow.

The following topics were addressed at the workshop:

  • Ongoing government energy programs and regulations
  • Energy assessment for building retrofits - tools and strategies
  • Improving the building envelope
  • Advanced heating and cooling systems
  • Reducing water use and applications for gray water
  • Experience with solar heating systems
  • Approaches to reducing the energy in high use facilities such as cooking & dining, data processing, clinics and hospitals, and food markets
